System Components and Functionality
Accessing Station Data
To access stream discharge information for operational or re-analysis sites a user
must first click on the check boxes next to either of these site choices on the
Data Explorer page. These check boxes display these sites on the user's map within
the map display window as red and blue dots respectively. Users must then click on
a site location within the map display to access it's Stream Discharge Station Data
page. This page lists site specific information like station name, station code,
Arctic-RIMS ID, source, latitude, longitude, continent, drainage area, contributing
area, interstation area and next upstream and downstream station(s). The continent
listing is a link back to the specific continental map on the Data Explorer page.
The next upstream and downstream station listings are links to the specified Stream
Discharge Station Data pages.
Users have the ability to view station data graphically on the station's Stream
Discharge Station Data page. When appropriate, users can choose to view the data
graphically as a climatology or as a time series in the graph display window found
half way down the the Stream Discharge Station Data page on the right hand side.
Climatologies can be displayed by choosing the Discharge Climatology radio button
within the Graph Type chooser window found half way down the Stream Discharge
Station Data page on the right hand side. Time series data can be displayed
graphically by choosing either the monthly or daily archival, or provisional
radio buttons or the monthly or daily provisional stage buttons. All graphs will
default to their maximum data date range when their radio button are chosen but
users can alter start and begin dates for time series data graphs within the Graph
Type chooser. Discharge graph units can be set to m3/s, km3, or mm by choosing
one of the three corresponding radio button below the Graph Type chooser.
All station data is available for download at the bottom of each Stream Discharge
Station Data page. Users need to click on any of the available links in the
Available Data Download box to access the data for download. All station data
from all operational and re-analysis sites can be accessed via sorted lists through
links at the very bottom of any site's Stream Discharge Station Data page.
